Members like YOU help us promote knowledge and appreciation of the french language and francophone cultures in New Orleans!

Chers amis,

Un grand merci to the 225 individuals who have become members of the Alliance Française of New Orleans since January 2015!
We are almost halfway to our 2015 membership goal!

With your support so far this year, we have been able to accomplish so much. Here are a few recent highlights…

Éducation
:

This Summer we’re entering our 3rd session of Petite and Bébé Alliance Immersion French Classes for Kids! So, far we have had 28 student registrations. Classes enhance children’s natural ability to learn language through interactive, structured routine. Little ones learn through games, songs, storytelling and sensory experiences. Classes are held at a children’s education center, Play  & Grow Studios.

Évenements culturels:

In May, we organized an apéro in the jardin with entertainment from students in our creative writing class and Cecile Savage on bass.
We also hosted a film screening and book discussion on Operation Sussex with author Denis Ward and filmmaker Bonnie Friedman.
Mademoiselle Gigi by Dennis Ward

Bibliothèque:

In the last few months, we have added 30DVDs and 20 books to our collection.
We have implemented a new, easy-to-use coding system. In addition to searching by author, you can browse our offerings based on French level (beginner, intermediate or advanced). An online searchable catalog accessible through our website is also coming soon!

AFNO cannot exist without you. As an American private not-for-profit organization, not subsidized by the French government, we depend on your generous support.

Members play a crucial role in our long term financial stability and success; thus, we have set a goal of signing up 500 members by the end of 2015, and we’re off to a good start! By joining today, you can help us achieve this goal and our mission to promote the appreciation and preservation of our unique French heritage in New Orleans, through quality education and community involvement.

Membership also comes with these great benefits!

  • Free entrance to monthly book club and twice monthly ciné-club
  • Reduced prices on events including: cooking classes, wine tastings, the annual gala & more!
  • Access to language classes
  • Borrowing privileges at our growing library
  • Free access to online digital library Culturethèque
  • Discounts at French restaurants & cafés around New Orleans
What are our members saying about us?

Un très grand merci,

Norma E. Grace

President, Alliance Française de la Nouvelle-Orléans
