Currently celebrating our 30th anniversary, we have many special events planned with a variety of partners in the New Orleans community.
ABOUT THE ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE The Alliance Française of New Orleans (AFNO), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is New Orleans’ leading French language and cultural center, dedicated to promoting French language and culture, and to facilitate interaction and understanding betweenthe people of Greater New Orleans and those of French speaking lands through qualityeducation and community involvement. The AFNO offers day, evening, and Saturday classes taught by professionally-trained native-speaking French teachers, as well asa variety of cultural and social events including lectures, film screenings, cookingclasses, discussion groups, and more. The AFNO also offers an in-house and online library with a selection of French films, books, magazines, and podcasts.

This position reports directly to the Executive Director
Administrative Coordinator Job Purpose: Provides office services by implementing administrative systems, procedures, and policies. Is responsible for customer relations and office management.
Responsibilities:
● Register and assist students
● Coordinate the scheduling of classes with teachers and students
● Maintain student/member database and records
● Assess students’ satisfaction
● Order textbooks, library materials, as well as general office/building supplies
● Manage facilities
● Maintain the library, and manage the lending of items
● Process events registrations and payments
● Assist in event planning
● Maintains administrative workflow by studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures
● Basic bookkeeping – i.e. accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, Requirements
● Organizational Astuteness,
● Process Improvement, Reporting Skills, Client Relationships,
● Proficiency with Microsoft Office
● High level of interpersonal skills
● Ability to multi task and excellent time-management, organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and understand scope and urgency of requests with deadlines in mind
Preferred:
● Bachelor’s degree
● Proficiency in French
● Experience in education management/administration
● Knowledge of QuickBooks online a plus
